Fear No Evil by Allison Brennan

A great read with good characters.
From Goodreads - In cyberspace, no one can hear you scream.

Instead of preparing for her high school graduation, Lucy Kincaid is facing a vicious execution. Lured by an online predator, she’s destined to die horribly–live on the Internet–while hundreds of heartless viewers watch and vote on the method of her slaughter. Her family’s only hope rests with Kate Donovan, an FBI agent who took on the same sadistic killer once before . . . and lost. Blamed for another girl’s gruesome murder, Kate’s been fighting to clear her name. But she agrees to join the hunt for Lucy–and reluctantly steps back into her worst nightmare.

With time running out before the bloody webcast airs, Kate teams up with forensic psychiatrist Dillon Kincaid to get inside the head of her twisted quarry, zero in on his chamber of horrors, and reach Lucy before grim history repeats itself and another innocent’s brutal death goes hideously live.

Face the fear. Speak its name. See its face.

Speak No Evil by Allison Brennan

No Evil Book 1

I loved this book from an author i didn't know, great Characterision, great story
From Goodreads - Silence is deadly.

The murder of eighteen-year-old Angie Vance was exceptionally vile–her mouth was sealed with glue, an obscenity scrawledwas across her skin, and she was suffocated in a garbage bag. The killing seems personal, so police detective Carina Kincaid focuses her efforts on the victim’s much older ex-boyfriend, Steve Thomas. But without physical evidence, Carina can’t make a collar or a case. She also can’t stop Sheriff Nick Thomas, the prime suspect’s brother, from conducting his own unwelcome investigation.

Though Nick is still scarred and unsteady from a recent confrontation with a serial killer, he’s determined to prove his brother’s innocence. But his confidence is shaken when he learns of Steve’s dark side, and when a friend of the murdered girl meets a similarly gruesome fate. With no time to lose, Carina and Nick work together to trap a psychopath, before another unlucky woman faces an unspeakable end.

Evil has spoken. Now see what it can do

Level 26 by Anthony E Zuiker

Anthony E Zuiker is the creater and executive producer of CSI.

After a shaky start when i thought this was too dark, however, once the chase began it improved, a fantastic read.

From Goodreads - It is well known among law enforcement personnel that murderers can be categorized on a scale of twenty-five levels of evil, from the naive opportunists starting out at Level 1 to the organized, premeditated torture-murderers who inhabit Level 25.

What almost no one knows, except for the elite unnamed investigations group assigned to hunt down the world's most dangerous killers, a group of men and women accounted for in no official ledger, headed by the brilliant but reluctant operative Steve Dark, is that a new category of killer is in the process of being defined.

Only one man belongs to this group.

His targets:
Anyone.

His methods:
Unlimited.

His alias:
Sqweegel.

His classification:
Level 26

The Dark Tide by Andrew Gross

A great book, i thoroughly enjoyed it
From Goodreads - Gross, who's partnered with James Patterson on a number of bestsellers (Lifeguard, etc.), mixes murder, suspense, sex and romance as capably as his mentor in his assured second solo thriller (after The Blue Zone). Charles Friedman, a New York hedge fund trader, perishes in a bombing at Grand Central Station that destroys the railroad car in which he was riding one morning from his home in Greenwich, Conn. Ty Hauck, head of the Greenwich police's violent crime unit, enters the picture when a hit-and-run victim turns out to have a vague connection to Friedman. Soon, Friedman's widow and her kids are threatened by men searching for vast sums of money her late husband never earned. The stakes rise as Hauck's involvement shifts from professional to personal. While the reader will occasionally see the next drop, tunnel or curve looming far ahead, the roller-coaster thrills are still there in abundance.

Not Impressed

Well I have had an interesting day today not................................. I live in Norfolk and my son in Banbury, he was supposed to bring his daughter (a product of a split relationship) home today but overnight his girlfriends nan passed away so he couldn't make it, so me and my husband agreed to do a round trip to Banbury to collect his daughter, my husband works in a garage so we had left and arrived at his garage about 5 miles away to fill up with petrol, there he found he had forgotten he should be working this morning, so I ended up going alone, now I hate driving just do it to get from A to B, any long distance driving my hubby does, so I was unprepared and left on the journey with no drink, no food and NO MONEY, and no map. I had an awful journey well out of my comfort zone, please note Norfolk has no motorways and I had to do some motorway travel. I spent 8 hours travelling an horrendous journey. My son had loads of calls, with me trying to get directions, my daughter had an hysterical call with me shaking after surviving the M1.

Today is my wedding anniversary, we have been married 35 years and believe it or not I am not on speaking terms with him at the moment :(

Sugar Cube Igloo

During Pack Holiday Sue and Debbie lovingly made an igloo from Sugar Cubes and Icing, then the Brownies made Marzipan Penquins to decorate it.

Pack Holiday 2012

This year our Pack Holiday takes place at The Jarman Centre, Newmarket, the team consists of myself (Leader in Charge), Sue (Craft Co-Ordinator), Eve and Eve’s Daughter Debbie (Cooks), Sara (First Aider).
18 Brownies, 2 Pack Leaders and 5 Leaders arrived on Monday 2nd April, after completing our On Arrival Checklist, we said Good Bye to Parents.  This year we are doing The Penquin Challenge, so after a drink and biscuit we did a Penquin Hunt, to try and identify all 17 Penquins, this hunt took us all over the house, including places that the brownies are not normally allowed, like the kitchen, first aid room and leaders bedroom, this gives them a chance to explore.

Above is our display of penquins, with an igloo with prizes in for the tidiest brownie, best bed space, etc.

We then had tea which was Chicken in White Sauce, Peas and Sweetcorn followed by Chocolate Pudding and Custard.  We had our first attempt at washing up.

Then we did a craft and made Penquin needle cases.

Then we had a bedtime drink and went to bed

We got up after a good first night, 11.15pm they were asleep and woke up 6.30am, not bad at all.
We had breakfast of cereal, croissants and toast., and then did our first duties.

The cooks cooked.
Health cleaned the toilets and bathrooms.

Housekeepers cleaned the seating area and prepared Brownies Own.

Waitresses cleaned the dining area.
Then we changed our programme as it was a lovely Morning, and the weather forecast was not good for the rest of the week, we had FREE TIME outside.
They were lovely grounds, we saw squirrels and birds, and lots of out door activities including Trampolines.

After Elevenses we made Mosaic Penquin Coasters

And Decorated Snowflake Spinning Tops

We then had Lunch of Tuna and Cheese Wraps, with Salad and Crisps followed by Fresh Fruit.

We had a Tuckshop in our surprise penquin.

We then made Penquin Snowglobes

We then had for Tea, Fish Fingers and Chips with Peas or Beans followed by Arctic Roll

We then made Boxes

We then had showers and got ready for bed

…….
We then had a bedtime story before bed

Fairy Day

We had another good night, going to sleep about 10pm and getting up at 7.00am.
Overnight we had rain and the rain continued, so during Wednesday we had to alter the programme.
The Fairy Penquin is the smallest of the Penquins, so we had a Fairy Day, the leaders wore Tiaras and had Wands and we had a sparkly star curtain leading into the main hall.

For Breakfast we had Cereal and Eggy Bread.
Then we did our duties again.
We made Origami Penquins

And decorated Bags to take our goodies home

We decorated Fairy Cakes to have with our packed lunch

Sue and Debbie made an igloo from Ice Cubes

The Brownies then made Marzipan Penquins for the Igloo

We then went out for a walk which was a bit drippy.

This should have led to a outdoor picnic but ended up indoors in a shelter because of the cold and rain

We then spent our money in the shop

Then after continually postponing it because of the weather we eventually got to do our Fairy Trail, the Brownies went out in groups and had to hold hands so as not to get separated, and found Fairy tokens in the grounds.

We then made Fairy Lanterns with twigs collected earlier, the brownies should have collected the twigs but because of the inclement weather Sue collected them.

For Tea we had a full Roast with Roast Pork and Angel Delight (as it was Fairy Day).
Then some Brownies acted out a story, before Bed.

And they were in bed before 9pm!

Birthday Girl

Another good night, and we woke up to a Brownie Birthday.  All the presents were laid out on a table for when she woke, some from Brownies and some from her Parents as well as a Penquin Card from the Brownies.

When she woke she opened her presents

Then we had Cereal and Sausage Baps for Breakfast

We then did our duties.

Then during elevenses we had the birthday cake and the candles were blown out, the cake was a Penquin cake lovingly made by Debbie, this was an ongoing project taking all week!

Then as it was a lovely day we decided to go outside and do the activities planned yesterday, but couldn’t complete because of the inclement weather.
So we made Fairy Houses using Natural things

We then made some uncooked sweets for our boxes that we made earlier in the week.

Then for dinner we had Jacket Potatoes, Cheese/Tuna and Salad followed by Jelly, Cream, sprinkles and wafers.

This afternoon we went outside and had a Winter Olympics
We had a Waddle Race

A Waddle Relay

Ice Cube Racing

The Winners of the Winter Olympics was the Macaronis.

We then made Fimo Penquin Badges

For Tea we had Macaroni Cheese followed by Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Custard.

Then after showers we sat down to watch Surf’s Up

After another good night we woke to our last morning.
For Breakfast we had Cereal, Beans on Toast and Toast.
Then we got ready to go home.
After we were ready, we discovered the Easter Bunny’s had visited overnight, and we all went outside and hunted for 3 eggs, surprisingly enough a few were hidden in the Fairy Houses made earlier in the week.

Then we had an Egg Roll Competition after decorating the eggs

We then had our final (early) elevenses

We then had presentations, prizes, pack holiday and penquin challenges badges and our usual pack holiday bookmarks.

This was a wonderful pack holiday the girls were great, went to bed at a reasonable time, and ate well, very little bickering, brilliant.
