Bob not well
Bob ran out of his medication and he couldn't order any till he had saw the doctor on trying to make an appointment he couldn't get in for a week, as a result, he spent 24 hrs violently throwing up with his acid reflux, he couldn't eat and drink, or move, he couldn't drink so was getting dehydrated which was causing him to develop an asthma attack.
So this morning, i went to see the pharmacist in boots, and asked his advice, the pharmacist sold me some tablets for Acid Reflux and told him to take 2, he then advised me to make an emergency appointment at the doctors, which i did.
He got into to see the doctors, who gave him his tablets and told him to double the dose, and prescribed some anti-nausea tablets, and gradually he started to improve.
This all meant taking a day off work sick.

The Morning after the Night Before
Well Miles started off sleeping fine, sleeping with Charlotte, then at 1.30 heard him grumbling, eventually i gave up and went and got him, and he screamed solid for about 45 mins, then he dropped off, and he woke several times, the one he wanted was Grandad :(.
On top of that Bob wasn't well, he was aching and couldn't breathe properly so all in all not a good night at all.
I spent the morning catching up with jobs and doing housework.
Then at lunchtime, i left to go to Norwich for my job induction, I first met up with Tina Neil from Human Resources, where we discussed the contract and filled in loads of forms, she also gave me the Employee Handbook, this lasted about 30 minutes. Then i had a meeting with Sam Woods Household Helpers Line Manager, she told me about my uniform, and my first customers, went through the risk assessment with me, this lasted about 3/4 hour.
We got home about 6pm and Kevin and Kinga came round and made us a Polish meal, it was Pork Roulade, which is Pork rolled and stuffed with a vegetable mixture, salad and New Potatoes, it was most delicious followed by Triple Chocolate Gateaux, served with wine. It was a delicious satisfying spread.
Steven's INR is back at 3 so he is now back on Warfarin, other than that a quiet day.

Hospital and Work
This morning i worked it was hard but a fairly good day.
After a break, i took Jude to see Steven, while Bob had the children, he bought them back home, because as Jude is working tonight, they can stay round home, be interesting, see how we get on. When Jude left for work, Miles cried constantly for a while, he only wanted Grandad, eventually Bob went outside, his breathing was bad, and he wasn't well at all.
Steven is not too bad, he saw Dr Kumar today, who said it was suspected encarditis and that he will be in for a while.
He is to have a TOE exam on Wednesday

What is a transoesophaegal echo (TOE)?
A transoesophaegal echo (TOE) is a special type of heart ultrasound that involves taking pictures inside your oesophagus, which is the tube connecting your mouth to your stomach. As your oesophagus is close to the back of your heart this allows your doctor to see clear pictures of your heart.

Ahh Bless, he is poorly
This morning Bob went to Burton on Trent to a model train exhibition, staying at his friend Adams overnight, Adam and Andrea agreed with me that he needed to get it looked at, and took him to an NHS walk in centre in Peterborough, where they diagnosed him with Cellulitis, they prescribed him 500mg C-Fluampicil and told him it could be quite serious and if that doesn't clear it up he needs to go to A and E to be admitted and put on an IV, as that is the only cure. He got the prescription from a late night Asda Pharmacy. The whole thing from start to finish took an hour and half
Wow you wouldn't get such efficient fast treatment round here.
Cellulitis
Skin infection - bacterial
Last reviewed: April 17, 2009.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
The skin normally has many types of bacteria living on it. When there is a break in the skin, however, bacteria can enter the body and cause infection and inflammation. The skin tissues in the infected area become red, hot, irritated, and painful.
Risk factors for cellulitis include:
- Cracks or peeling skin between the toes
- History of peripheral vascular disease
- Injury or trauma with a break in the skin (skin wounds)
- Insect bites and stings, animal bites, or human bites
- Ulcers from diabetes or a blockage in the blood supply (ischemia)
- Use of corticosteroid medications or medications that suppress the immune system
- Wound from a recent surgery
Symptoms
- Fever
- Signs of infection:
- Chills, shaking
- Fatigue
- General ill feeling (malaise)
- Muscle aches, pains (myalgias)
- Warm skin, sweating
- Pain or tenderness in the area with the rash or sore
- Skin redness or inflammation that increases in size as the infection spreads
- Skin sore or rash (macule):
- Comes on suddenly
- Grows quickly in the first 24 hours
- Usually has sharp borders
- Tight, glossy, "stretched" appearance of the skin
- Warmth over the area of redness
- Hair loss at the site of infection
- Joint stiffness caused by swelling of the tissue over the joint
- Nausea and vomiting
Signs and tests
- Redness, warmth, and swelling of the skin
- Swelling and drainage if the infection is around a skin wound
- Swollen glands (lymph nodes) near the cellulitis
Tests that may be used:
- Blood culture
- Complete blood count (CBC)
Treatment
- You are very sick (very high temperature, blood pressure problems, nausea and vomiting that does not go away)
- You have been on antibiotics and the infection is getting worse
- Your immune system is not working well (due to cancer, HIV)
- You have an infection around your eyes
You may receive antibiotics to control the infection, and analgesics to control pain.
Raise the infected area higher than your heart to reduce swelling. Rest until your symptoms improve.
Expectations (prognosis)
People with fungal infections of the feet may have cellulitis that keeps coming back. The cracks in the skin offer an opening for bacteria to get inside.
Complications
- Bone infection (osteomyelitis)
- Inflammation of the lymph vessels (lymphangitis)
- Meningitis (if cellulitis is on the face)
- Sepsis, shock
- Tissue death (gangrene)
Calling your health care provider
- You have symptoms of cellulitis
- You are being treated for cellulitis and you develop new symptoms, such as persistent fever, drowsiness, lethargy, blistering over the cellulitis, or red streaks that spread
Prevention
- Keeping your skin moist with lotions or ointments to prevent cracking
- Wearing shoes that fit well and provide enough room for your feet
- Learning how to trim your nails to avoid harming the skin around them
- Wearing appropriate protective equipment when participating in work or sports
- Clean the break carefully with soap and water
- Cover with a bandage and change it every day until a scab forms
- Watch for redness, pain, drainage, or other signs of infection
Co-fluampicil
|
About co-fluampicil
| Type of medicine | Penicillin antibiotic |
| Used for | Bacterial infections |
| Also called | Magnapen® |
| Available as | Capsules, oral liquid, and injection |
About co-fluampicil
Co-fluampicil contains two penicillin antibiotics in equal amounts, flucloxacillin and ampicillin. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as infections of the chest or skin. It works by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria that cause the infection.
Before taking co-fluampicil
Before taking co-fluampicil make sure your doctor or pharmacist knows:- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
- If you have glandular fever.
- If you have liver problems or have ever had liver problems after taking an antibiotic.
- If you have kidney problems.
- If you are taking other medicines, including those available to buy without a prescription, herbal and complementary medicines.
- If you have ever had an allergic reaction to this or any other medicine. It is particularly important that you tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics.
How to take co-fluampicil
- Before beginning treatment, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet from inside the pack.
- Take co-fluampicil exactly as your doctor has told you.
- Co-fluampicil is usually taken every six hours. Space the doses evenly throughout the day.
- Keep taking this antibiotic until the course is finished unless you are told to stop. This is to prevent your infection from coming back.
- Take co-fluampicil when your stomach is empty. This means an hour before food or 2 hours after food.
- Try not to miss any doses. If you do forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose, in which case leave out the missed dose. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.
Getting the most from your treatment
- Some people develop thrush (redness and itching in the mouth or vagina) after taking a course of antibiotics. If you think you have thrush speak with your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
- If you are using oral combined hormonal contraception (the 'pill'), additional contraceptive precautions such as condoms are not required during a course of this antibiotic unless you are sick or have diarrhoea. If you need further advice, speak with your doctor or pharmacist.
- If you are having an operation or dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment that you are taking a penicillin.
- This antibiotic may stop the oral typhoid vaccine from working. If you are having any vaccinations, make sure the person treating you knows that you are taking this medicine.
- If you still feel unwell after completing your course of co-fluampicil, make another appointment to see your doctor.
Can co-fluampicil cause problems?
Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side-effects although not everyone experiences them. These usually improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine, but speak with your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side-effects continue or become troublesome.| Common side-effects | What can I do if I experience this |
| Feeling or being sick, stomach ache | Eat little and often and stick to simple or bland foods |
| Diarrhoea | Drink plenty of water to replace lost fluids. If the diarrhoea is severe or lasts for more than 24 hours, see your doctor |
| Thrush, skin rash and itching | Speak with your doctor or pharmacist for advice |
- Swelling of your tongue, mouth, or face, or any problems with your breathing.
- A severe itchy skin rash.
- Jaundice, fever or pain in your joints.
- Severe diarrhoea.

Omeprazole Medicine for Acid Reflux
Omeprazole ( Prilosec®) is used for treating certain conditions related to the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. Healthcare providers often prescribe omeprazole medicine for acid reflux, ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions. The medication is a type of proton pump inhibitor that works by decreasing acid production in the stomach. It is typically taken once or twice a day, depending on the condition being treated. In clinical studies that used omeprazole medicine for acid reflux, up to 56 percent of people had complete relief from their GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) symptoms. These studies also showed that the drug helped to heal esophagitis due to GERD and helped keep erosive esophagitis from returning.

Bob went to the Doctors today, to discuss his acid reflux, he saw Dr Sartaj Tyabji and he got another telling off for leaving it so long to go to the Doctors, they prescribed him omeprazole, which he used to take, and seemed to work.

Bob Not Well and at the Clinic
Today Bob had his first Asthma Clinic appointment he got on fairly well, he has to go back in 2 months.
Bob has been up all night, badly suffering from Acid Reflux (see below), he was advised to see the Doctor, by the Asthma Nurse.
Bob had a bad morning at work this morning, and he hasn't been well all afternoon and so he called in sick at work tonight.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), gastric reflux disease, or acid reflux disease is chronic symptoms or mucosal damage caused by stomach acid coming up from the stomach into the esophagus.[1] A typical symptom is heartburn.
GERD is usually caused by changes in the barrier between the stomach and the esophagus, including abnormal relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, which normally holds the top of the stomach closed; impaired expulsion of gastric reflux from the esophagus, or a hiatal hernia. These changes may be permanent or temporary ("transient").
The most-common symptoms of GERD are:
Typical symptoms are associated with GERD, but there is good evidence for causation only when they are accompanied by esophageal injury. These symptoms are:
- Heartburn
- Regurgitation
- Trouble swallowing (dysphagia)
- Chronic cough
- Laryngitis (hoarseness, throat clearing)
- Asthma
- Erosion of dental enamel
- Dentine hypersensitivity
- Sinusitis and damaged teeth[5]
- Pharyngitis

Bob running for Council
Bob has been persuaded to run for Council, he is being sponsored by Richard and Elaine Bird.
His campaign literature follows the theme as below
Why run for Council
Dawn and I have been a part of the Hunstanton community for more than 20 years.
When we married, we lived in Mattishall, near East Dereham. We were expecting our third child, and moved to Hunstanton so my wife, Dawn, could have family support. (Jackson’s the Shoe People)
I have a passion for the town of Hunstanton.
I can see several areas that are of concern.
Hunstanton Regeneration by now, we should be seeing results from this project, but all we see is decline. I intend to find out what is going on.
I intend to keep asking questions concerning car and coach parking, until I get answers.
Although they are encompassed within the scope of Regeneration, other specific areas of concern are local jobs, affordable housing and local planning issues.
As someone who has had strong links with the business community, I am keen to help our town centre
What can I offer
I can be a voice of reason, without being confrontational.
I will question obscure decisions at every opportunity. I will certainly question anything which could prove negative for the town.
While I cannot offer big sweeping changes, I can make sure I am heard. Sometimes, all it takes is one logical voice, to make the majority rethink a position. I can try to be that voice.
Voluntary activities:
I am involved in a number of voluntary organisations past and present.
Helping in various capacities with the local Scouts and Guides.
Golden Spurs Country and Western Club.
Hunstanton Playfund - Playground equipment on the Rec.
Active with local Traders Associations.
Chairman of Hunstanton United Businesses.
Hunstanton Christmas lights.
Committee member of Hunstanton Regeneration Partnership’
Active with planning for the Royal Wedding weekend.
Technical advisor for the Union Church website.

Our 34th Anniversary
April- Marry in April if you can, joy for maiden and for man.
I don't know whether it is my problem or the shops or card manufacturer, but yesterday when i went to write out Bobs anniversary card it said Happy Birthday inside, wow the panic, so talking to Jen, I found a verse i liked on the computer, printed it out and Jen helped me make it fit, i hope it doesn't look too home made, the front of the card was a definite anniversary, so did the manufacturer print the wrong words in the middle??
The verse read
Never a moment passes by
When you're not on my mind
And words could not express my joy
That in my thoughts, I find
For, you to me are everything
My reason just to be
And I feel there is no doubt
That you're the other half of me
Today is our wedding anniversary, we have been married 34 years, it is a bittersweet day, 34 years ago i started married life with such dreams and ambitions and it has all turned to dust.
I ask have we been happy, i really cannot answer that, i feel sad and lonely a lot of the time, we do not communicate enough.
Jen and Andy got us a card with the following verse
On this your anniversary
To a special Mum and Dad
This celebrates the happy years
of married life you've had
The love you share's amazing
one on which you can depend
Knowing that you'll always be
each others greatest friend
But what can be the secret
of your sweet devoted ways
It's really pretty simple
Then it had to be ruined by saying inside
Mum commands and Dad Obeys
Bob bought me 2 bunches of flowers, cream roses and deep red chrysanths.
Bob made us a nice dinner, howeve, it would of been nice to be taken out and wined and dined for a change:(

Jen and Andy got us a card with the following verse
On this your anniversary
To a special Mum and Dad
This celebrates the happy years
of married life you've had
The love you share's amazing
one on which you can depend
Knowing that you'll always be
each others greatest friend
But what can be the secret
of your sweet devoted ways
It's really pretty simple
Then it had to be ruined by saying inside
Mum commands and Dad Obeys
Bob bought me 2 bunches of flowers, cream roses and deep red chrysanths.
Bob made us a nice dinner, howeve, it would of been nice to be taken out and wined and dined for a change:(

Bobs Allergy Attack
While I was at bible study tonight Bob had one of the most severe allergic reaction ever. His breathing became slightly restricted, but only slight. Eyes started watering, then WHAM, eyes seemed to shut off......... he thinks they were open, but the pain and watering was massive. Micheal was awake so he asked him to check if there was anything left on in kitchen, smoking, or any peculiar smells anywhere, but nothing. It eased off after several minutes and started again when he tried to sit next to the window. Eased off as he moved away. So he tried going close to my modelling bits and no reaction.

Anti Biotics - Amoxicillin Capsules
Amoxicillin (INN), formerly amoxycillin (BAN), tormoxin (in India), amoxycillin (cilamox) in Australia,[1] abbreviated amox, is a moderate-spectrum, bacteriolytic, β-lactam antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is usually the drug of choice within the class because it is better absorbed, following oral administration, than other β-lactam antibiotics.Emergency Inhaler - Ventolin 100MCG
Salbutamol (INN) or albuterol (USAN) is a short-acting β2-adrenergic receptor agonist used for the relief of bronchospasm in conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is marketed by GlaxoSmithKline as Ventolin, Aerolin or Ventorlin, depending on the market; by Cipla as Asthalin and Asthavent; by Schering-Plough as Proventil and by Teva as ProAir.Regular Inhaler - Clenil Modulite 200MCG
Salbutamol was the first selective β2-receptor agonist to be marketed — in 1968. It was first sold by Allen and Hanburys under the brand name Ventolin. The drug was an instant success, and has been used for the treatment of asthma ever since.[2]
Salbutamol sulfate is usually given by the inhaled route for direct effect on bronchial smooth muscle. This is usually achieved through a metered dose inhaler (MDI), nebulizer or other proprietary delivery devices (e.g. Rotahaler or Autohaler). In these forms of delivery, the maximal effect of salbutamol can take place within five to twenty minutes of dosing, though some relief is immediately seen. It can also be given orally as an inhalant or intravenously.
Bob didn't have to pay as he went online to get a season ticket for prescriptions.
Clenil modulite is a CFC-free inhaler that contains the active ingredient beclometasone dipropionate (previously spelt beclomethasone in the UK). This is a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid.
Corticosteroids are hormones that are produced naturally by the adrenal glands. They have many important functions, including control of inflammatory responses. Beclometasone is a synthetic corticosteroid and is used to decrease inflammation in the lungs. (NB. Corticosteroids are often simply called steroids, but it should be noted that they are very different from another group of steroids, called anabolic steroids, which have gained notoriety because of their abuse by some athletes and body builders.)
He was also given an Asthma Clinic appointment in 2 weeks on the 15th April.

Our Housing
We moved in our house in April 1988 3 Crescent Road, Hunstanton, we have lived there for 22 years, however, due to several factors we have put our house up for sale to recoup some money to pay off some debts.
We put ourselves on the waiting list, but we are only entitled to a one bedroom property, which would mean making my two boys homeless, how can any parent be expected to do that.
I understand their arguments that the boys could leave because they are grown up however when/if this happened we would be quite happy to downsize.
In the meantime, if we moved, they would have to use 3 properties to house us and not one.
