Today i went on a walk with the boisy.com Smith Family, Andy organised the walk so we just followed him, it was a lovely sunny day and not too cold.
We started off about 11am at Jen and Andy's and meandered our way upto the A149, we walked up and crossed over the road and headed up the road then track past Smithdon towards Ringstead, we then left the track and turned into Lovers Lane, where Dylan got his binoculars out and did some bird spotting.
At the end of the Lane we turned right and headed towards Old Hunstanton Duck Pond, we turned right and meandered our way through woodland, that bought us out direct at the Duck Pond, where Andy had the foresight to bring some bread to feed the ducks, part of the duck pond was frozen so i dare say they were glad of the food.
We went to the seat at the crossroads and sat and had lunch, we then headed up to the A149 and came out near the Caley Hotel, we walked along the A149 and turned right and walked round the Pitch and Putt, so Dylan could have a toilet break.
We then walked along the cliff tops and through the esplanade gardens, past some shops, through the market place and past Tesco and got home about 3pm.
It was a tiring but satisfying day.

Walks and the Coasthopper
Coasthopper shadows the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail all the way along from Hunstanton to Cromer, so it’s really easy to take the bus, get off for a good walk, and rejoin the bus a bit further along the route. What’s more the Peddars Way National Trail also reaches the coast at Holme next the Sea.
The Norfolk Coast Path National Trail is a brilliant way of enjoying the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and combined with Coasthopper makes it easy to access while leaving the car behind!
If you are walking in a large group and you want to use Coasthopper, then please let us know at least seven days in advance, so we can do our best to make sure you're not left behind!
So to walk the 7 (6.6 to be exact) miles between Wells and Burnham Overy Staithe, for example, will take 2.8 hours, which you can round up to 3 hours. This gives about 10 minutes of stopping time and on this coast you will probably need to factor in stopping to go “wow look at that view!”
So the walk plan could look something like this.
For full details on making the most out of the Norfolk Coast Path, visit www.nationaltrail.co.uk/peddarsway

How do you put together a day out on the coast?
First of all, select your favourite bit of the coast, or maybe a favourite pub or café you want to reach. To plan your trip you do need to know how fast you walk, and everyone will have a slightly different walking speed. However, most recreational walking will vary between two and three miles per hour so if to start with you work on 2.5 miles per hour on Norfolk’s gentle terrain you won’t be far out.So to walk the 7 (6.6 to be exact) miles between Wells and Burnham Overy Staithe, for example, will take 2.8 hours, which you can round up to 3 hours. So the walk plan could look something like this.
- 0900 Leave Wells Quay.
- Follow the Norfolk Coast Path to Burnham Overy Staithe
- 1200 Arrive at The Hero pub for a much needed lunch
- Catch the Coasthopper back to Wells at 1335 (but check the latest times either at the bus stop or better still carry a timetable leaflet with you!)

Hunstanton to Holme
We met up with Mum in Old Hunstanton at Smugglers Close, we started off by crossing the Hunstanton Golf Course, and heading along the dunes at Old Hunstanton the sea on the left of us and Hunstanton Golf Course on the right.
It was very misty out to sea. We picked the last of the blackberries.
We arrived at Holme-next-Sea and sat down to have our packed lunch, getting a hot drink from the kiosk in the car park.
Then we continued on, by now the Mist had burned away and the sun had came through and it turned lovely and hot.
We went along the road till we reached the River Hun, we walked through a caravan site and then were in the wilds with the River on the right and the Golf course now on the left, the water was lovely and clear and we saw quite a few ducks.
It took us about 2 hours, there were loads of has been blackberries along the river need to make a note to come 3 weeks earlier next year.
It was a nice pleasant walk.

Holkham Park
Today we took a picnic to Holkham Park in the grounds of Holkham Hall.
Bob was disappointed that you now had to pay car parking, and there was now a designated parking area, which all took the edge off of our visit, but the car park wasn't expensive only £2.50.
All the years i have been going to Holkham and never before spotted The Ice House!!

DAY ONE (Monday) - Power Promises
Every day, I’ll ask you to write the answer to a few
questions pertaining to that day’s video and
accompanying scriptures.
What is the Lord saying to you? Write it down. I
believe the Holy Spirit will reveal Himself more and
more to you as you study the Scriptures and seek
deeper, more personal revelations of Him.
What do these words mean to you?
“This is the day the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24).
_They are very inspiring words, very exciting____________________________________
__________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________
I make a conscious decision to rejoice and be glad today. Here are some of the
words I can say to the Lord right now as I rejoice in Him. Write words of thankfulness
and praise to God – and then say them out loud to Him!
__Praise the Lord___________________________________________________
__Thank and Pray to God________________________________________________________
__Bless the Lord________________________________________________________________
__Feelings of well being________________________________________________________________
Power Promises really does need to be done outside, it is boring inside.

Barnwell Country Park
Driving in the general direction of home we saw the sign to Oundle and Bob said thats a nice little market town, lets stop for lunch, as we got closer i spotted the signs saying road closed, twice i told Bob and he obviously was in a world of his own and ignored me, then it was too late and we were on the road, and sure enough further up the road we reached the Road Closed, i did point out with glee that i had told him twice.
However, just before the Road Closed sign, there was Barnwell Country Park, it was really pretty so we stopped and partook of refreshments and commenced our second walk of the day.

Delapre Abbey
While having a meal with Bobs family we enquired where would be a good place for a walk round abouts, Jean said a good place would be the grounds of Delapre Abbey, during the day we had sign signposts. So on the Morning of the 13th July we had a lovely carvery breakfast in a Toby Carvery next door to the Travelodge we were staying at and set out.
http://www.delapreabbey.org
We found Delapre Abbey without too much difficulty, Bob seems to think he went there as a child.
We headed for the lake and commenced to walk all round the lake.
We saw lots of water birds along the way.
Dotted all round the lake were small remains of campfires seems a bit irresponsible.
It wasn't long took just over an hour, we then meandered back to the complex and went to the tearoom and sat in the walled garden and had a drink and a cake.
We then went out of the walled garden and had a look in the woodland.
It was a lovely walk and a lovely morning the only downside was the amount of noise polution, it made us realise how lucky we are.
Then we headed back to the car and hit the A45 and pointed the car home.
