Tonight we watched this Pierce Brosnan Classic, brilliant.

A very rich and successful playboy amuses himself by stealing artwork, but may have met his match in a seductive detective.

Race to Witch Mountain (2009)

This is one of the best Witch Mountain Films i have seen, thoroughly enjoyable.

A Las Vegas cabbie enlists the help of a UFO expert to protect two siblings with paranormal powers from the clutches of an organization that wants to use the kids for their nefarious plans.

Another awful year over..................

Today i worked at calendar club all day, then we went to the Silver Spoon and had a meal and then went to the Majestic for a drink and then we watched The Hobbit in 3D an awsome film.

An interesting film, predicting the end of the world on 21st December 2012, not a wise film to be watching 1 month before the date.  However, a good film.

The Bucket List

Edward Cole (Nicholson) is a corporate billionaire who is currently sharing a hospital room with blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common, conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they 'kick the bucket'. But one can't accomplish such lofty objectives from the confines of a hospital bed, so now in order to live their lives to the absolute fullest Edward and Carter will have to make a break for it!

I went on a Date

Today after a day at work, we went on a date, we had a meal in Silver Spoon and then went to see Skyfall.

Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Not a bad film but unfortunately it just didn't hold my attention for some reason.

Deja Vu

Tonight we watched this film, it was a brilliant film, well acted and thought provoking.

When a ferry filled with crewmen from the USS Nimitz and their families is blown up in New Orleans, Federal Agent Doug Carlin (Washington) is brought in to help with the investigation. He becomes attached to an experimental FBI surveillance unit that uses spacefolding technology to look back a little over four days into the past. While tracking down the bomber Carlin gets an idea in his head: could they use the device to actually travel back in time and not only prevent the bombing but also the murder of a local woman whose truck was used in the atrocity?

I found this film very dated and very boring.

Tonight i watched Abduction, a brilliant film thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not a brilliant film, pretty sad and pathetic really

Busy Busy Day

Well Miles, went to sleep about 11pm and woke up about 7.20pm, that is acceptable.

This morning when Jude came home from work she stayed at our had a couple of hours sleep while i was at church, then we had a roast dinner, Jude and Jenny washed up,  we went to leave the children with mum and wish Dad a Happy Birthday.

Then we went to see Steven, not too good to day, this morning he passed out in the toilet, he also threw up, and then he slept most of the day.

Then i went home to tea made by Andy and Jenny.  As we went to the hospital this afternoon i was able to watch some TV this evening.

Unplanned day

Well today was interesting certainly not boring.

Me and Bob being tired had a lie in, we were just getting up and the phone rang, it was Jude, Steven had just been to the Doctors and they were referring him to the Hospital with possible CCF (after googling it i found it meant oh help "congestive heart failure," ) or heart failure.


Symptoms for past 3 weeks include

• Headaches, severe
• Tiredness and Fatigue including no energy
• Unable to sleep
• Loss of appetite
• Tremor in left hand
•  Chest pains
• Fever (especially at night, burning up and sweating while claiming he is frozen)

We dashed down to Steven's Bob took control of children and I took them to the hospital.   We first went to A and E and then to MAU (Medical Assessment Unit), during the course of the day Steven has had 2 ECG's and Chest X Ray and loads of Blood taken in 4 different places both arms and hands.

He saw 3 sets of different doctors during the day, each time rising in hierarchy, the end result was they suspect he has an infection in his Artificial Heart Valve (see below Infective endocarditis)

To find out definitely they need to grow some blood cultures which takes 3-4 days, so he will be in over the weekend.

They are talking about referring him to cardiac department, where they will probably put a camera in, so they can have a look at the valve.

If the culture is positive, he will need to go on high dose of anti biotics, which would mean an extended stay in hospital.

We eventually got home about 7pm.

Stevens Temperature was recorded as 39C.

Infective Endocarditis

Infective endocarditis is an infection that can seriously damage heart valves and cause other serious complications if it is not treated quickly with antibiotics.

Who gets infective endocarditis?

Endocarditis is uncommon. In the UK it occurs in about 20 in a million people each year. It can occur in anybody, but the risk of developing it is increased in people who have:

• Heart valve problems or an artificial heart valve. Heart valves that are already damaged or abnormal are more likely to become infected.
• Had surgery to a heart valve.
• Certain congenital heart defects.
• A heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• Had a previous episode of infective endocarditis.
• Been injecting street drugs such as heroin, with dirty or contaminated needles.
• A poor immune system. For example, people with AIDS.

What are the symptoms and signs of infective endocarditis?

Slowly developing infection

In many cases the infection develops quite slowly. This is sometimes called subacute bacterial endocarditis (SBE). Symptoms can develop gradually, over weeks or months, and can be vague at first. You tend to feel generally unwell and may have general aches and pains, tiredness, and be off your food. A fever (a high temperature) develops at some stage in most cases. As these first symptoms can be caused by a lot of other conditions, the cause of the symptoms may not be diagnosed for some time.

Heart murmurs tend to develop. These are sounds that can be heard by a doctor listening to your heart with a stethoscope. Murmurs are caused by abnormal flow of blood through faulty or damaged valves. If you already have a heart murmur from an existing valve problem, the murmur may change or become more intense. A new or changing murmur is often what alerts a doctor to suspect infective endocarditis.

Reading the above Steven has got classic symptoms of the condition.

Molly and Terry Donahue, plus their three children, are The Five Donahues. Son Tim meets hat-check girl Vicky and the family act begins to fall apart. 

It was supposed to be a feel good film, but got too close to heart and i got tearful at times.

Troll Hunter and Harry Brown

Bob worked this morning, last night i merged several blogs into this one by using the import tool, so i spent a lot of the morning, sorting out the labels, making sure they were accurate and deleting duplicates.

I also spent a lot of the day stitching cross stitch key rings for the kite festival:).

Steven had a Doctors appointment today after doing Docking Market, he gave him so extra strength pain killers and wants to see him again tomorrow at 9am, like me he thinks it is all Stress related.

We started watching Troll Hunter, it was a Norwegian Film with dubbed English, the best thing about it was the scenery, it was a poor story line, with unsympathetic characters, we gave up on it

 Whilst investigating a series of suspicious bear killings, a group of students track a mysterious 'hunter' who wants nothing to do with them and attempts to shake them off his trail. Sheer persistence leads the group right to the hunter's prey and they soon learn that there are far more dangerous and mystical creatures in the wilderness than mere bears.

Troll Hunter is a thrilling and wildly entertaining ride where secrets are uncovered thought only to exist in fairy tales. 

We then watched Harry Brown, very slow and quite boring

Marking his feature film directorial debut, Daniel Barber presents a London that's a million miles away from the picturesque beauty of holiday brochures but instead a hellish city where menace lurks in the shadows of its streets. When his friend is brutally murdered by a group of disaffected youths, ex-serviceman Harry Brown (Caine) takes the law into his hands, vowing to hunt each of the culprits down... 

100 Million BC (2008)

A scientist from the failed Philadelphia Experiment leads a team of Navy SEALs back in time to the Cretaceous Period to rescue the first team he sent back during the 1940s. Things go wildly awry though, when on his return he accidentally brings a giant, man-eating dinosaur back through the portal and into modern-day, downtown Los Angeles.
