Delapre Abbey

While having a meal with Bobs family we enquired where would be a good place for a walk round abouts, Jean said a good place would be the grounds of Delapre Abbey, during the day we had sign signposts. So on the Morning of the 13th July we had a lovely carvery breakfast in a Toby Carvery next door to the Travelodge we were staying at and set out.

We found Delapre Abbey without too much difficulty, Bob seems to think he went there as a child.

We headed for the lake and commenced to walk all round the lake.

We saw lots of water birds along the way.

Dotted all round the lake were small remains of campfires seems a bit irresponsible.

It wasn't long took just over an hour, we then meandered back to the complex and went to the tearoom and sat in the walled garden and had a drink and a cake.

We then went out of the walled garden and had a look in the woodland.

It was a lovely walk and a lovely morning the only downside was the amount of noise polution, it made us realise how lucky we are.

Then we headed back to the car and hit the A45 and pointed the car home.
