Goodbye Penny

Penny was born a feral cat, we got her about 8 weeks old from a rescue centre in Fakenham in May 1998, she was always from the start Kevins Cat, she followed him around and slept on his pillow.

However, since moving into the flat 8mths ago, she hasn't been happy, she has always had the freedom of being outside and was obviously unhappy, then on the 11th June 2011 Kevin left home and it was impracticle to take Kevin with him.

It became increasingly obvious that the best thing for Penny and the family was her to be rehomed, i really didn't think we would be able to rehouse her.

However, on Facebook i posted the following

Home wanted for Cat - After moving to a flat 8 months ago, our cat Penny is really not happy, she is 13 and used to being able to go outside, if anyone can offer her a good home to see out her remaining years, we would be most grateful, please repost

Jan one of my facebook friends reposted this and on Tuesday said she had a friend interested, i subsequently gave her a ring, she lives in Docking and  seemed like a lovely lady, today she took Penny on the proviso that if she didn't settle and get on with her cat we would take her back.

All though it is sad, i know it is the right thing and i am sure she will be happy.
