Micheal and Hana to be married
Micheal and Hana have arranged their wedding at Banbury Registry Office on the 16th June 2012 at 4pm.
The Reception will be at The Cromwell Lodge Hotel http://www.oldenglishinns.co.uk/banbury/
The theme will be pink and white and the men will wear pink ties.

Tha Jarman Centre
Today we went and visited the Jarman Centre in Newmarket where we will be going on Pack Holiday next year, we were very impressed.
On arrival we met Hilda Hardy the Caretaker who then proceeded to show us round.
We first looked round a sensory garden with a lot of outdoor musical equipment.
We first saw the outdoor activity store which included Parachutes, cricket sets, trails and balls, then we went inside and saw the Laundry and Wet Room (Disabled Shower and Toilet), then we went and into the main hall where there is a quiet seating area next to a log burner.
Then we had a look at the Kitchen, and were told about the air coolers and solar panels.
We then visited The Trefoil Room, which has a TV/DVD, this room will be used as the First Aid Room.
There are 2 shower/toilet rooms
We then saw the leaders rooms, there are 2 leaders rooms 1 with 4 beds and 1 with 3 beds.
There are 4 dormitories each sleeping 6 Brownies
We then proceeded upstairs to The Loft, in The Loft there is a Galley a Toilet/Shower and 2 reasonably sized rooms, one of the rooms we will use to sleep the young/pack leaders and the other room we will use as a craft room, so we can leave the crafts out.
We then saw the Campfire Circles

The Trampolines

Big Gig 2011
The BIG GIG is a pop concert for Girlguiding UK members aged ten and over. Lots of Guides from all over the UK come to the BIG GIG to see acts. The BIG GIG 2011 will be taking place at Wembley Arena. The line up is

Sophie wasn't too impressed, she thought it was just too loud, yes it was loud and noisy, but it was a good show.
It is great people watching, seeing all the lights and the excited young people.
On the way home we stopped at South Mimms Services and had something to eat.

We went and bought some merchandise then found our seats.

An i-limb Hand for Becky
Becky Palmer has been principal trombone of Hunstanton Concert Band since she joined us in 2007.
Becky has never let the fact that she was born without a right hand stop her doing what she wanted. Using the basic National Health supplied hands, which have one simple gripping action, she plays trombone, piano, guitar and trumpet and is a keen and competitive tennis and squash player.
She was principal trombone of the National Schools Symphony Orchestra for two years and, whilst at the University of Reading, conducted the University Concert Band.
Last year she captained the winning Ladies City League Division 3 tennis team, won the Glebe House tennis tournament and was in the winning team of the Castle Acre Mixed League.
Becky is a Primary School Teacher specialising in music and also teaches music privately. She also works at Corders Budgens in Fakenham.
One of the hands she uses is operated by pulling a cord with the left hand and the other, which is electrically powered, frequently breaks down. Both are heavy, unwieldy and unsightly.
The i-limb Hand, at a basic cost of £9,000 but rising to £30,000 with 'options'and user training, has individual movement of all four fingers and the thumb together with a rotating wrist, all electronically controlled by the muscles of the forearm. This would give Becky far more control of her trombone slide, allow her to play the piano far more naturally - and looks wonderfully natural and realistic.
Also, Becky says, it would allow her to use a knife and fork to eat - at present, when eating out, she has to select very carefully from the menu. Another plus would be that she would have more control when walking her dog!
On Wednesday, 11th March, 2009 a joint lecture given by The Royal Society of Edinburgh and The Royal Academy of Engineering examined in some depth Touch Bionics, the company that manufactures i-Limb, and the way its products can transform the lives of those have the chance to use them.
Any excess funds raised by this appeal will be donated to the registered charity, The Limbless Assocation
