Decision time

When i visited an Age UK customer yesterday, i was asked if i could go privately as she didn't really want to go through an agency, she first contacted Red Cross, filled in the forms, asked when they could start and they said they had no volunteers, then AgeUK became involved, and she only booked 2 sessions.

So when i got home i discussed it with Bob and checked my staff handbook.  The only reference in the Staff Handbook read

It is important to remember that you are visiting customers as an employee of AgeUK Norfolk and not as a Private Individual.  You must therefore not undertake any additional privately arranged services outside the service agreed in the Menu of Services and coordinated by AgeUK Norfolk.  Any requests for additional services should be reported to your line Manager.
The customers Menu of Services stress it is for 2 hours only, so because of that i read that after the 2 hours has been completed,  i have no further obligation to AgeUK Norfolk.

We also got talking about craft she is in a wheelchair and does beading, but has no outlet, i discussed my cross stitch and she asked if it is possible for her to pay half of the stall and i display her goods and she pays me a commission, this will reduce my overheads, add interest to my stall, and i may even earn some money, can't be bad.

Time Out

‘Time Out’ is an informal evening for ladies of all ages. The varied programme includes invited speakers, visits and socials. They meet on the last Thursday of each month, usually in the Union Church hall, Hunstanton, Norfolk.

Time Out began in 1992, in July 2012, I took my designs and did a talk and demonstration at ‘Time Out’, and during this meeting, I agreed to do a Cross Stitch to celebrate their 20th Anniversary in September 2012.

Shattered

This morning i went to work, towards the end there was an enormous thunder storm, lightning lit up everywhere, and the thunder made everywhere shake.

After work absolutely shattered.

As i was working Jenny ran a stall at a craft fair for me she sold 2 kits, 2 cards and 5 threads, not brilliant, but ticking over.

I later went to collect Jude from Mums who were having the children, and went to see steven, he wasn't as good today, he was very tired and didn't look as well, i think it is because he over exerted himself when he went down to see Miles last night.

Docking Market

Today we went to Docking Market, Charlene (who runs the cafe) wasn't there as she had a tummy bug, so Bob ended up serving Teas and Coffees.

My stall didn't do too badly, a lot of interest was shown, and some sales.

Today Steven has his TOE

What is a transoesophaegal echo (TOE)?

A transoesophaegal echo (TOE) is a special type of heart ultrasound that involves taking pictures inside your oesophagus, which is the tube connecting your mouth to your stomach. As your oesophagus is close to the back of your heart this allows your doctor to see clear pictures of your heart.

He got back late morning Groggy and Sore.

Steven seemed in good spirits and the confirmed results are Streptocococcus Infective Endocarditis, Please see blog Infective Endocarditis for more details of the condition.

The TOE showed definite vegetation, it is going to be a prolonged hospital stay i am afraid :(
