Looking at Jesus

Today Jo organised a Retreat Looking at Jesus, 5 attended, Jo, Pam, Janet Groom and Ruth.

It was a lovely day we took a shared lunch, which was lovely.

We were lookin at Woman at the Well John 4

We started at 10.30am with Coffee/tea

at 11 am we had our first session using a book Eddie Askew book Unexpected Journeys
A Collection of Meditations and Prayers. Eddie recreates 5 well known Bible strories and brings them to life 'with such clarity and startling vivid imagery that he transports us to another time, another place, another world.' He challenges the reader to explore the stories as relevant to our modern context, as 'more than history'. The book also contains some of his watercolour paintings and a guide on how to interpret the paintings and their use in personal reflections/prayers.  
then at 11.45 we went off into seperate rooms for quiet time, to do our own study, we were also give a meditation to read.

12.15 then we had our second session.

We then had another quiet time

Then we had a relaxing lunch

1.45 was session 3

2.15 again was another quiet time

2.45 Final thoughts prayers and sharing

Followed by drinks and home at 4pm.

Things that were covered included

Prejudice
Women under the thumb
Break with tradition
Mustn't judge other people
