Hunstanton to Holme and Back Again

2nd June 2010

Popped into Coffee Morning then met up with Sandra, Terry, Jenny, Andy, Sophie and Dylan.
And we headed off to Old Hunstanton, we parked at Smugglers Close near Hunstanton Golf Course, and we set off.
The Sun was shining, it was warm without being too hot, the sky was blue as was the sea, what more could one ask for.
Sophie had my camera and was the official walk photographer.
We began by crossing the Golf Course (dodging the Golf Balls) then passed behind Old Hunstanton beach huts, and Sophie found a path on top of the Sand Dunes, and the views were wow so spectacular, sea was sparkling in the sun, we could see the top of Hunstanton Lighthouse and the end of the cliffs it was magical.

We reached Holme Beach and headed off towards the car park, dodging the golf balls once again.  We had a loo break and an ice cream and continued on our way, we went up the road to the bridge over the river and turned right by the River Hun, passed through a caravan park and then it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, although we were following the line of Hunstanton Golf Course.
The river was so clear and clean and flowed so freely, we saw lots of wild flowers and insects.  And we saw Families of Ducks with babies, and i saw Rattie (from Wind in the Willows) a water vole.  It was just magical.

We got back to the cars and it took about 2 hours.
We then went to The Mariners for lunch, we sat outside while the children played on the playground, and enjoyed lunch and cold drinks.
About 5.00pm got a call from Jenny, did we want to go round for a BBQ, so we went round, the children had the Paddling Pool out so i got in to paddle my toes, then on the spur of the moment sat down in Paddling Pool, fully dressed, i got extremely wet, then we enjoyed the BBQ.

Altogether an idyllic day.
