Vindication

Taken from a book i had for my baptism Psalms to Soothe a Woman's Heart, it sort of suits the fight i have been having over the past few years.

Whenever you serve God, there will be those who do not understand your devotion to him and may even oppose what he has commanded you to do.  Their heated words and atagonism maybe discouraging, but be strong.  Continue to do what is right, honouring the Lord.

As hard as they try, no one can prevent God from fulfilling his purpose for you.  In addition, when you honour him faithfully, his loving character will shine through you.

Therefore, instead of growing angry with adversaries, pray that they will accept the freedom that God offers.  Then whether or not they decide to follow him, you will have succeeded in doing what is right and keeping your heart clean.  That is all the vindication you really need.
